Ringgold County, in Nonresident Deer Zone 5, is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to southern Iowa Deer Hunting. It’s a sleeper from the standpoint that it doesn’t get nearly as much publicity as a county like Decatur, that borders it on the east, but Ringgold grows just as big of bucks as Decatur does. There were multiple deer and turkey seen when taking an initial tour of the property. Because it has not been hunted in 18 years there is no past trail camera history or harvest photos, but there are trail camera photos and video from the listing agent’s cameras from the last week of April, 2026, showing both a good deer population and resident populations of bachelor bucks!

You’re also an easy drive from multiple public hunting areas to the east and south in Ringgold County.
